2018 Simons Website Update Complete

Hello Simons Players

Just wanted to announce that the website is now mostly updated. I’m still missing a couple of jersey numbers. So could the captains please check their team.

Please have a look and if you see any errors or omissions please let me know and I’ll get them corrected.

Thanks for your patience guys, it took a bit of learning for me to find all the places that needed to be updated for 2018.

It will be a faster process next year and hopefully the website will be current from week 1.

Cheers,

Len

Trades Made Last Week

Hi everyone,

As you know, the intent of the Simons league is to provide every team with a chance to win every game. We make trades after 10 games when each team has played every other team twice. If the teams are still not balanced after 3 rounds of games, then we will also make another trade after the teams have played 15 games.

As one of the captains was unable to meet next week, the captains got together last Friday and made a trade. The Bruins are currently the best team in the league having won 8 of their first 9 and the Leafs have won 2 of their first 9 so we made a trade to try and bring more balance to those two teams. The other four teams appeared to be within a game or two of each other in the middle of the pack and at this point, the captains agreed that those teams were competitive so no further trades were made.

Commencing next week, November 10th, Lenny Wiltzen will be a member of the Bruins and James Addison, will don a Maple Leafs jersey. Lenny and James, make sure that you know what time your new teams’ game is at and make sure and get your old sweater to the team in time for their game.

If there are further trades made after the next round of 5 games, we’ll let you know. See you on the ice !

Hockey Pool

Hey Guys,

Chris Switzer and Marc Richard are putting together a hockey pool. Attached you’ll find a sheet with a bunch of boxes on it. Pick one player from each box and that’s your team. Last year we had about 25% of the league who were playing and we’d like to increase that this year.

Your entry has to be in before the season begins !! ie. Like Wednesday this week !!

The entry fee is $20 and 20% of those who play will likely win prizes so send your entry back to Chris Switzer at cswitzer@gisborne.com and you’ll be entered to win.

PS: Insider Information/ Tip from the NHL: Don’t pick Connor McDavid !!

Statistics & Player Numbers

Hi Guys,

The standings and statistics are updated as of Week 2. There are few errors to work out with the stats. This is due to some missing player numbers. You can check your number in the team lists to see if you are missing your number.

However, we should have this worked out via the Captains by the end of this week.

Cheers,
Sam
